How do we help?
Supporting Schools with Proven, Practical Solutions

Education Support and NAHT guidance was recently published in a document: “How to maintain a healthy mind and culture during periods of challenge. A practical toolkit for school leaders.”
We tick all the boxes.
Using the powerful HeartMath techniques, we have developed an accessible and effective approach aligned with this guidance. The guide is divided into three key parts as seen below...
The Three-Part Approach to Building Resilience
1. "Building a Healthy Mind and Culture to Deal with Challenges and Stress"
We begin by focusing on "fostering a healthy mind and culture, essential for navigating periods of challenge and stress." Our approach draws on the HeartMath technique Quick Coherence, which helps maintain a calm, clear mind in stressful situations. "Step 1 – Exercise": We provide 5 daily Qi Gong moves and alternative yoga poses to support mental clarity and stress relief. "Step 2 – Eat Well": A handout of 10 scientifically validated brain foods to boost focus and mental health. "Step 3 – Sleep Well": Tips for a restful night, including 10 sleep tips and a breathing pattern for better sleep. "The importance of breathing" As a qualified Breathwork Coach, we teach energizing, balancing, and relaxation breathing modes to regulate emotions and reduce stress. "Managing Anxious Thinking": Learn HeartMath techniques to build resilience and manage negative thoughts, enabling effective planning and recovery. "Give Yourself Time and Space to Worry": Use the “Inner Ease” technique to clear your mind before planning and “Coherent Communication” before meetings. "Make Time to Talk": Find the right people to talk to, avoid negative conversations, and use the Education Support helpline for further assistance.
2. "The Challenge Itself – Understanding Stress and Managing Pressure"
We provide insights into the "stress cycle and how HeartMath can help close it." By examining how stress affects the brain and body, we demonstrate how HeartMath builds resilience. The Science of Stress: Stress diverts blood flow from the frontal lobe (the thinking part of the brain) to the amygdala (the emotional, reactive part), which can lead to irrational decisions. Using HeartMath to Build Resilience: We teach how biofeedback from HeartMath techniques trains the heart, emotions, and mind together, like a workout for your mental resilience. Daily HeartMath Routines: Three simple 3-minute routines you can practice daily to manage stress, improve coherence, and recharge during depleting situations. "Focus on What You Can Control": Recognize when situations are beyond your control and focus on managing your response with HeartMath skills.
3. "Managing the After Effects – Stress Recovery and Emotional Regulation"
Once a stressful situation passes, it's essential to manage the after-effects. HeartMath’s Quick Coherence technique helps us to quickly return to a steady, calm state. Deeper held attitudes from prior stresses and memories can be switched using Freeze Frame or Cut-Thru techniques. We also provide access to education support advisors or can connect with a highly qualified counsellor who deals with cases involving a high degree of trauma on a daily basis.
Still unsure? Here's why it works...
HeartMath is a proven system that combines science with practical techniques to help individuals regain balance and resilience in challenging situations. Discover why this method is so effective. The Science Behind HeartMath: Learn how HeartMath techniques use biofeedback to train the heart and mind, fostering resilience and emotional coherence. Real-World Results: Case studies and testimonials show how people have successfully applied HeartMath to navigate stressful situations with more ease and clarity. HeartMath’s Proven Impact: Studies and research supporting the effectiveness of HeartMath in reducing stress, improving performance, and enhancing overall wellbeing. Why It’s Different: Unlike traditional stress management techniques, HeartMath directly addresses the root causes of stress by syncing the heart and mind for optimal functioning.

What you can achieve by using Heartmath in your school:
Improved Emotional Regulation
HeartMath helps school staff better manage their emotions, especially during stressful or challenging situations. By using techniques like "Quick Coherence," staff can maintain a calm, balanced state, which allows them to respond to students with patience and empathy, rather than reacting impulsively.
Enhanced Focus and Clarity
The HeartMath techniques improve cognitive function by boosting coherence between the heart and brain. This helps staff stay focused and clear-minded, even in high-pressure situations, allowing them to make better decisions and provide effective guidance to students.
Increased Stress Resilience
Using HeartMath's biofeedback tools, school staff can train their bodies to handle stress more effectively. As they build resilience, they can better manage the emotional demands of the classroom environment, reducing burnout and increasing long-term well-being.
Stronger Communication and Relationships
By mastering the HeartMath techniques, staff can enhance their communication skills, making them more aware of their emotional state and how it impacts interactions. This leads to more positive, supportive relationships with students, fostering a healthy, trust-based learning environment.
Better Stress Recovery
After a stressful event or challenging situation, HeartMath’s “Freeze Frame” technique helps staff quickly return to a balanced state. This enables them to recover faster and maintain a calm, effective presence for their students, improving overall mental and physical well-being.
These benefits help create a more resilient, positive, and effective learning environment for both staff and students.
